Anti-Doping Authority the Netherlands

The Anti-Doping Authority the Netherlands, in brief the Doping Authority, is the independent NADO of the Netherlands. Our mission is to create doping-free sports in the Netherlands. We do so on behalf of the government (Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport) and the Netherlands Olympic Committee * Netherlands Sports Confederation (NOC*NSF) and working in co-operation with many national and international organizations.

The core activities of the Doping Authority are:

• Providing information and education to elite athletes and their immediate surroundings;
• Providing information and education to athletes in fitness centers and their immediate surroundings;
• Providing information and education to athlete support personnel;
• Providing information to the general public;
• Detecting of doping violations especially doping controls;
• Developing and monitoring of anti-doping regulations and conducting legal proceedings;
• Collecting and disseminating (scientific) knowledge on (anti)doping;
• Achieving international coordination.
